As you might have heard from other journalists the Habitat group woke up thirty minutes early again to beat the heat. However there was not that much heat to beat as it was pouring all morning. While Mississippi needed the rain the groups plans could have done without it. We however were in a different group and got to work under the safety of the porch. Even though we were under the porch the water made an obstacle course for Jacob. He had to walk around a bunch of wooden planks, jump onto a driving lawnmower, step on a basketball, and finally get to the area he needed to be at… only to screw in one single thing.
Our group was working on the lattice of an incredibly sweet woman named Irma. This latish was ripped off during the storm, so we helped her replace it. We also helped her clean out a little bit of her shed, which was completely flooded during the storm. This lady was so incredibly nice that she gave us sweet tea, made us chili, and gave us cookies. When the rain finally stopped a sweltering heat came and we were back to melting. When this happened we were back to working on the lattice and finished it in the time span of three days.
After work, we all headed over to the pool, which a church member so generously offered out to us. The church members grandchildren were there, Kate and James, who were 6 and 3 respectively. The pool had a diving board we were not allowed to use and a awesome slide that everyone used. Tori left with the first group of people to go back to the church but I decided I needed to dunk Scott, a counselor who was in the army. If you don’t know me I don’t weigh anything, at most I weigh 100 pounds so amazingly he dunked me about 47 times while I dunked him 0 times. As you can tell I lost and didn’t leave a mark. Heading back to the church for a dinner, which the women of First Presbyterian Church cooked for us. It consisted of chicken and catfish. Then we had another relaxed evening full of group bonding, reflection, and fun.
Oh and one last thing; we are now doing Mississippi madness, a name game contest, in which we have finished two rounds. Mine is tomorrow and Tori is not playing so that’s all, Jacob and Tori out.
29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
34"How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
35The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
36Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. 37For nothing is impossible with God."
38"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

The folks in the inner circle try to tag the person in the middle, and the folks in the outer circle try to stop them. The level of pandamonium is controlled by the person in the center who get to rotate either circle, mixing up the teams and control the action. |
