Family Mission Trip July 5-11, 2008 - Chambersburg, PA

The group stayed at Wilson College and participated in service projects in the Chambersburg, PA area.

Wednesday, July 9
Wednesday morning devotions We started working at a new site today - the Roxbury Holiness Camp.
We spent the day repairing a number of picnic benches and painting some of the 22 that were set out for us to work on. We did a lot of painting on this trip and it was all red paint! Other projects today included concrete partching, and some creek restoration work.
At the end of the day the camp allowed us to use their super sized slip-n-slide. Most of the kids enjoyed the slide, as soon as they got off, they went back up to go again (and again).
We even had some adults willing to give it a try!
Then it was back to Wilson College for dinner, evening devotions and some free time. Much of our free time was spent in our lounge playing games or working on the puzzle.
Thursday, July 10
After morning devotions we were off back to Roxbury Holiness Camp. We found more of the picnic tables needed some repairs.
We figure he pulled out 20 years worth of staples and thumbtacks from these tables. And we continued painting!
Success! Then it was on to the next project weeding and mulching around the conference center.
Before During After
The concrete work was also completed! And after work was done it was back to the slip-n-slide.
While some simply observed the sliding,   others could not resist the temptation!
Then it was back to Wilson College for dinner, some games, puzzling
and having fun with our youngest participant. Then we were off to Falling Spring Presbyterian Church for an evening worship service, communion and our group photo!

Friday, July 11
Friday morning we gathered for breakfast, said some goodbyes and got a few more cuddles.
Okay - we got a lot of cuddles... and then went our ways to meet up again on Sunday back in Princeton.
