Church school for all ages During the Program Year
Church School IS for all ages. To register (at any time during the year) for all church programs for children and youth, use this single church program registration form here.
Parents –
1. Take Infants and Ones to their child care in Room 105 before
worship.
2. Take Age 2 to their church school class (Room 05) before worship.
3. Take Age 3 through Grade 5 to worship with you.
4. When children are dismissed to church school classes from worship, please
accompany any whoneed help finding rooms and any who need to be registered. (see
below)
5. Send Grades 6 – 12 to church school at 9:15 a.m. (This is new for 6th
graders!)
Church school classes are offered for children beginning
at age 2.
2 year old children go directly to their classroom in Room 05 for a 9:15 start of their class.
3 year old children through those in grade 5 go with their parents to the sanctuary for the first part of worship and then are dismissed to their classes at about 9:30 a.m. This experience of worship is vital to children who are not participating in the 11:00 service.
We ask that parents accompany young children to their classes. All families must complete a Nassau Presbyterian Church Program Registration form. This form covers church school, worship explorers, confirmation, youth groups and children and youth choirs. You may download a registration form (see below) or pick up one in the church office.
Church school concludes at 10:30 for ages 2 through grade 5.
Youth in grades 6-12 have church school from 9:15-10:15 a.m.
Registration forms are available from the church office or are available for download. To register for all church programs for children and youth, use this single church program registration form which can be found here. This form can be used to register for choirs, church school, youth group and confirmation.
Worship Explorers
Worship Explorers is a program designed to serve as a bidge for children as they grow in the understanding and practice of worship. The goal is to enable children to meaningfully participate in the full service of worship as soon as possible. Chidren age 3 - grade 3 begin worship with their parents in the 11:00 service. The children will be invited to leave the sanctuary around 11:15 for Worship Explorers.
Worship Explorers Jr. is for children age 3 - Kindergarten and meets in Room 206. Molly Dykstra and Cynthia Miller are the leaders.
Worship Explorers is for children in grades 1-3 and meets in the Multi-Purpose
Room in
the basement. Nancy Mikoski and Laurie Lyter share the leadership.
New children are always welcome. All children are to be picked up from their classrooms following the worship service.
Child Care
Child Care is provided for infants and toddlers each Sunday morning. From 9:00-10:45: Infants from birth to 12 months are cared for in Room 105 next to the kitchen. Children from 13-24 months are cared for in Room 206.
From 10:45-12:15: Infants and toddlers are cared for in Room 05.
During the summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends) child care is combined and held in Room 05.
