J. Paul Baldeagle, 1896-1970
J. Paul Baldeagle was given the courtesy title of “Chief Baldeagle.” He was a graduate of the Carlisle (Pa) School for Native Americans. He taught English in the Bordentown school district for many years. After his retirement from the classroom, he worked at Princeton University in the Firestone Library. His extensive collection of Native American artifacts can be seen at the NJ State Museum in Trenton.
He spent many enjoyable hours in company and conversation with the children of the Moore Street area where he and his wife lived for many years. He is buried with his wife Ceile.
