Thou Preparest a Table

The Rev. Dr. David A. Davis' sermon of November 27, 2005, the First Sunday of Advent on Revelation 3:14-22. In celebrating the first communion of Advent we must remember "it is about Christ’s preparation, about what Christ has done." Rev. Davis ends with a recollection of an unexpected visit to "The Manger Mart," where he found inspiration for this Advent, in the drawing of a 4-year old boy, Renaldo.

Some People and Places on the Gulf Coast

Seven of us from Nassau Presbyterian Church spent a week in place new to six of us. Beyond the River

The Rev. Dr. David A. Davis' sermon of November 6, 2005 on Joshua 24. "Choose this day whom you will serve. The God who brought you to the promised land or the gods beyond the river." Joshua, Elijah, Moses, and Jesus have all given us similar challenges. Be it money and bills, national security and the war on terror, or matters as 'commonplace' as raising children, we can make the right choices by feasting on God's abundant grace.

Year of the Bible Survey Results

As we enter the final six weeks of the Year of the Bible program, the committee extends it grateful thanks to all of you who took the time to complete the informal survey sent out this fall. The results were candid, thoughtful, and varied, with the common themes that God has been at work in the process, and that through it we have been changed. See the full story and survey results.

Middle School Fellowship Retreat, December 2-4

6th, 7th, and 8th graders you are invited to a middle school retreat at Camp Johnsonburg. The theme for the weekend is Teens and Their Music. Music plays a vital role in the lives of teenagers. It helps them express themselves, identify with others, and can be a source of strength during difficult times. During this retreat, youth will have an opportunity to look at what their music says about them, the messages in music, and where we can find God in different types of music. The cost is $100. Please sign up by November 16.
